There are two ways in which I intend to research how long people will wait before moving on to another web site or moving to another topic all together.

I will first survey various individuals to get an understanding of the way that they treat delays in getting the information they requested from various sites.

My next approach will be to research various intent sites that are related to the topic, such as Microsoft, Apple Computers, Intel, etc., as well as computer chat rooms and blog sites that have discussions regarding various topics about internet usage.

Research Project

I am in the process of researching information for a project in my English 376 class. An idea I had for the research project is to find out how much time people will wait for a web site/web page to load, before giving up and moving on to either the next web page available, or another topic/subject all together.

For example, if I am searching for a pair or brown pumps, and I am on the Macy’s web site, and I search for “brown sling-back pumps” under the “shoe” heading and it does not up-load right away, I may go to the next available web site to search, such as Parisian. How long does the average user wait for the information they are looking for?

How long do you wait? Where to do go from there, such as another site, page or information source?

This is the first "blog" that I have ever created. I wasn't even exactly sure what a blog was until I began a web writing course in August 2005.
