There are two ways in which I intend to research how long people will wait before moving on to another web site or moving to another topic all together.
I will first survey various individuals to get an understanding of the way that they treat delays in getting the information they requested from various sites.
My next approach will be to research various intent sites that are related to the topic, such as Microsoft, Apple Computers, Intel, etc., as well as computer chat rooms and blog sites that have discussions regarding various topics about internet usage.

Sounds interesting...another approach may be to find a few web sites (I may be able to help you with this) that do take a while to load, and have some people try to load them. Then gauge their reactions -- so, watch/study them in a "real-time" environment.
